James Eybs

In Memory Of Our Son, James Robert Eybs

5/25/77 - 8/27/06

Our dear, son, James, was killed in a tragic automobile accident on August 27, 2006. He was on his way home to PA when he went off the road, apparently to avoid a car on his side of the road or a deer. He crashed into a telephone pole at approximately 11:50 pm Sat. night, 8/26/06. By the time the police arrived it was a few minutes after midnight, hence his death was recorded at 12:20 am on 8/27/06. The accident occurred at Mount Carmel Road near Gunpowder Road.

Some History

James was always a very athletic young man. He started playing various sports at the age of 6. He excelled in soccer and played for the Lithicum Rec club but eventually played soley for his travel team. He continued his sports through high school, playing both soccer and lacrosse.

He also coached a girls lacrosse team on which his step-sister, Michelle, played.

James was a whiz in computers and developed the marylandtowns.com website and most of the websites that are listed there for various customers. He wasn't happy doing "office work" and had become an electrician soon after high school. By the time he was 28, he had started his own electrical company, "Got Electrician".

He married Katie Verdecchia in 2002 and in 2006 they were blessed with Mason Michael Eybs, born 3/27/06 at 4:57 pm. In memory of James' step-brother, Michael Scott, James gave Mason the middle name of Michael. How odd it is that Jamie died on the same day of the month that his son was born.

Our Darling Dog, Baby, May you rest in peace with Jamie Our wonderful grandchildren, Zoey and Dani

2006 was a very rough year for James. In April he contracted a bacterial infection that required emergency surgery. He had a hard time with this infection that kept returning. The doctors kept putting him on one antibotic after another. He had to have home nursing care for several months to attend to his wound. He was unable to work until August 2006. In fact, he had just gotten back to work the Tuesday before his fatal accident.

James worked hard his entire life trying to be the best he could be. He loved to fish and was so looking forward to taking his son on his first fishing trip. He also loved his music, you seldom found him without his earphones on.

Update January 2010

Today, January 25, 2010, we had to put our dear dog, Baby, down. She was originally Jamie's dog. He had rescued her from a really bad situation, and she became his dog until he moved out on his own and Baby became our dog. She was 15 years old and a wonderful pet and friend. She will be missed by all of us. We believe Jamie has all his beloved pets that have passed on with him. They are all headed off to the nearest fishing pond, Jamie with his pole across his shoulder and all the pups running and playing as they continue their journey.

Update February 2011

A beautiful nephew, Jasper Quin was born, he will so miss his uncle.
