ROG members and friends,
The following Rule 8 outline was developed from a document prepared for ROG about 12 years ago by a lawyer. There may have been some updates or changes since then, but the intent of providing it is to give each member organization something to consider and use in accompanying formal testimony. This is essential at some hearings, and useful at others in establishing credibility. I recall that a Rule 8 document should accompany any written testimony associated with the upcoming comprehensive zoning process.

Note that the bottom of the form is a statement regarding a motion of the organization that should be made early in each fiscal year of the organization.

ROG opposes the proposed special exemption that would allow the property to be used for __________________ of the scope outlined to ROG at a meeting on ______ of _______ representatives, and suggested in drawings presented to nearby property owners. Furthermore, ________________, _________________, or _______________ are authorized to explain or amplify as they see fit, this stated position.

RESOLVED, that at this second meeting of ROG for 2007 to 2008, that the responsibility for the official presentation of positions for actions on all zoning and development matters is hereby assigned only to the President, Vice Presidents, and Committee Chair(s) as elected, or duly appointed. The President and Vice Presidents may authorize in writing with two signatures, the delegation of this authority to other members of the organization.
